The story of Esther is blowing me away today!
Esther is faced with a really difficult situation. An edict has been sent out saying that the Jewish people will all be killed! The King is not Jewish, but what he doesn’t know is that his Queen is! Mordecai, Esther’s father figure, told Esther about the edict and wants her to confront the King. The catch is that whoever goes to the King without first being called by the King will die unless the King saves him/her. Crazy!!
What does Esther decide to do? She is going to have all these people fasting and then she is going to do it! The risk is worth it to her.
1. I’m so awestruck at how much she trusted God! I honestly don’t know what decision I would make here. She believes God will hear the cry of His people.
And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
(Esther 4:14b, ESV)
2. That verse is so powerful for me right now. Josh and my good friend, Jason Jaggard, talks about risk ALL of the time. The people who are living extraordinary lives are taking risks. They are not content with the mundane of life. They are not going to let opportunities pass. They are not okay with injustice. Their risks are meaningful and they make a difference. I am in my “kingdom” right now for a reason. I want to live an extraordinary life. I want to make a difference in the world!
What risks are you taking to live an extraordinary life?
