Literally, I need to do a better job waking up in the mornings. Mackenzie has been waking up multiple times in the night from nightmares. I also think she is getting use to us sitting outside of her door until she falls asleep. Then, she wakes up in the morning yelling for us and crying. I can’t wake up that way anymore! It is exhausting and at that point I haven’t even been awake for five minutes!
All of that to say…Operation Wake Up Before My Kids is now into effect. I said I was going to do this a couple days ago and the first day I woke up 10 minutes before the kids. The last two days, I didn’t even try. It has been hard with trying to hang out with people before we move. I plan to go to bed early and then I don’t want to because I want to hang out with my friends for as long as possible. I need to wake up early regardless. I need to get into the routine.
My goal is to wake up at 7am everyday and do my 21 Day Fix and spend some time with Jesus. I don’t do either regularly and this will give me time to do both everyday, hopefully. I can also try to fit in picking up and packing for a few minutes. Imagine if I could get up at 6:30am. I get excited about how much I can do during that time! My issue is being motivated to set the alarm before I go to sleep. I just need to do it. I need to start my day right. It is necessary in order for me to be a more patient mom, a better wife, and a sane human being.
I had posted a few times on Facebook about this and have gotten so much good advice. Everyone is super encouraging. Please don’t stop 🙂 I want to hear more about how waking up before your kids, or early in general, has changed your life. What is your story? What helped motivate you?
